You will only be able to recall emails that have been sent to other GCS email accounts IF the email has not yet been opened. Emails to users outside of GCS cannot be recalled. Emails that have been opened cannot be recalled.


Select the Sent Items icon on the left menu.

Double click on the email.


When the email opens in a new window, click on File on top menu within the new email window.

Click on Info and look for Resend or Recall. 

  1. Recall: simply remove the email from the users’ inbox.
  2. Resend: send a second copy of the email with edited content and/or recipients. Note: this option will not recall the initially sent email.

Select Recall This Message to attempt to remove the email from the recipient’s inbox. In the new window, you have two options:

  1. Select Delete unread copies of this message to recall the sent message and not replace it with another email
  2. Select Delete unread copies and replace with a new message to replace the sent message with a new message.

To get a notification, select the Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient check box


Select OK. If you selected to replace with a new message, type and send your replacement message.
