How do I add my email to my Samsung Galaxy phone?

Purpose

This process explains how users can add an email account to their Samsung Galaxy device using the built-in email setup

 

Step 1: Open the Email App

  1. Unlock the Samsung Galaxy Phone
  2. Locate and open the Samsung Email app from the Apps screen

Step 2: Select Email Provider

  1. Tap Add Account
  2. Choose the email provdier: 
    1. Microsoft Outlook/ Office 365
    2. Gmail
    3. Yahoo Mail
    4. Other (IMAP/POP3)

Step 3: Enter Email Address

  1. Type the full email address
  2. Tap Next

Step 4: Enter Password

  1. Enter the email account password
  2. Tap Sign in 
    1. If the account uses Multi-Factor Authentication, follow the verification prompts

 

Step 5: Grant Permissions

The Phone may ask for permission such as:

  • Contacts
  • Calendar
  • Notifications

Tap Allow of Required

Step 6: Sync Settings

Choose how often the phone checks for new mail:

  • Push (if supported)
  • Every 15 minutes
  • Every 30 Minutes
  • Hourly
